Light Makeup for Oily Skin

Spring is here, and like always, I prefer light-coverage makeup bases. But I know that for people with oily skin, this can mean looking shinier than they’d like.

What looks nice and glowy on me can end up looking greasy on someone with naturally oily skin. But don’t worry! You can still get a light, natural, and hydrating skin tint that has a matte finish. There are some new options I think you’ll love.

Lisa Eldridge’s Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint

Let’s start with Lisa Eldridge’s Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint. It costs £37 and works for all skin types. I’ve been wearing it for the past month, and I love its non-glittery, soft matte finish. It’s especially great for combination skin. The color match is spot on for me (I use T6, a neutral beige), and it doesn’t lean too yellow, which is rare for sheer tints.

The best part is the texture. It’s super light and fluid, so it doesn’t feel heavy on oily or active skin. Even if you add more to build coverage, it still feels light and comfortable.

Kosas BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream

Next up is Kosas’s new BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream, which is £36. This one isn’t for me because I have drier skin, but my oily-skinned friend swears by it. It has a creamy texture that feels almost watery when you apply it. It’s perfect for quick, on-the-go makeup (like when you’re at a red light!). It finishes semi-matte with no grease, pearlescence, or glitter.

Bare Minerals’ Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturiser SPF30

Lastly, I have to mention an old favorite: Bare Minerals’ Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturiser SPF30. It’s £33 and has a big fan base among people with oily skin. I’ve never been able to use it myself, but I see why it’s popular. It’s a light gel-cream that gives oily and combination skin types a nice, sheer glow. It’s not shiny or completely matte, and it goes on smoothly to give a healthy-looking tint. It also blurs fine lines and minor discolorations. It’s a classic that’s still worth checking out.

So there you have it—three great options for those with oily skin who still want a light, natural look. Happy spring!
